What is the Client Portal?
The Client Portal is the method we’ll use to transfer and store tax documents between each other. Operated by Citrix ShareFile, this cloud-based platform will allow you to safely and securely upload all of your tax documents into shared folders that are accessible only by the two of us. Once your tax return is complete, I’ll print it to the Client Portal for your review. All documents requiring signatures are signed electronically via the Client Portal. Basically, the Client Portal is where all sensitive information and activity takes place.
When sending my tax documents, is the Client Portal safer than regular email?
Yes, much safer. The Client Portal protects documents in transmission with SSL/TLS encryption protocols and multi-factor authentication. Documents stored in the Client Portal are secured using AES 256-bit encryption. In a world where hacking and identity theft are constant threats, I highly recommend utilizing the Client Portal for transmitting all of your tax documents and other sensitive information. If you choose not to, you are doing so at your own risk.
How do I access the Client Portal?
Simply click on the “Client Portal” menu option. From there, you will be directed to log in with your email address and password.
How do I register for the Client Portal?
Once you provide me with your email address, I’ll create a user account for you. You will then receive an email from ShareFile Support, which will prompt you to activate your account.
Once inside the Client Portal, how do I view documents?
Once inside the Client Portal, you will see a “Folders” menu option on the left side of your screen. Click on it, and then click on “Shared Folders”. This will allow you to access your main folder and all other sub-folders. Clicking on any document within these folders will allow you to view that document. You can also check the box next to a document for options to download, preview, or copy that document.
How do I upload new documents?
Once inside any of your folders, in the top-right section of your screen, you will see a blue circle with a white +. Hover over this circle to reveal an “Upload” option. Click on “Upload”. From there, you can either drag and drop files you wish to upload to that folder, or you can browse and select files that you wish to upload from within your device’s file directory.
